JEFFERSON COUNTY OFFERING PHOTO VOTER ID CARDS

BIRMINGHAM, AL- (October 9, 2015) — Jefferson County offers free photo voter ID cards at two locations. Cards may be issued at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Birmingham, located at 716 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd N. in the Board of Registrar’s Office (Room A-410), and at the Bessemer Courthouse located at 1801 3rd Ave. N, inside the Probate Court Office.

To obtain your free Alabama photo ID card, a photo ID document or a non-photo identity document containing an individual’s full legal name and date of birth (such as a birth certificate or marriage license) will be needed, and the individual must be a registered voter.

If a person already has any of the following, the person is not eligible for a free voter ID:

Valid Alabama driver’s license

Valid Alabama non-driver ID

Valid State of Alabama issued ID

Valid Federal issued ID

Valid US passport

Valid employee ID issued by federal, state, county, municipality, or authorized board

Valid student ID from a public or private college or university in Alabama which includes technical schools

Valid ID issued by a state institute of higher learning

Valid military ID

Valid tribal ID
