Jefferson County Commission Approves Two Resolutions In Emergency Meeting |

Birmingham,AL – The Jefferson County Commission today approved two resolutions in its emergency called meeting at 2 p.m. (click here to watch the full meeting) · Resolution 1: Authorized the continued closure of the Jefferson county Courthouses and other Jefferson County facilities to the public through April 30, 2020. · Resolution 2: Authorized the immediate purchase of 55 hospital beds from Jett Medical Company for $80,750.00, and authorized the transfer of $1 million from the County’s Catastrophic Event fund to the General Fund for this purchase and any other expenditures associated with the COVID-19 Pandemic. The hospital beds will be used to set up a surge hospital should the County experience a spike in COVID 19 cases that exceeds local hospital capacity.
